Cathy New of Regina Synchro has just finished competing at the World Masters Championships in Goteburg, Sweden. After swimming her Technical Solo, Cathy was in a three way tie for 5th place out of 16 competitors. The highest ranking Canadian swimmer in this category. Cathy then went on to swim a fantastic Artistic solo to the Beatles music ‘Let it Be’ and again finished as the top Canadian in 7th spot out of 16 competitors. This is Cathy’s first year competing as a Master’s athlete after a lengthy retirement from competing in the sport and she has great potential to be in the top 3 at this competition in years to come. Cathy also coaches synchronized swimming with Regina Synchro mentoring many younger coaches and athletes as well as working as a psychiatric nurse here in Regina. Congratulations Cathy!
